The Place Below

Hell is having everything you've ever wanted.

The Black Depths

You lose yourself in the black, trying to find someone, anyone who really gets you.

What you don't know, is that you've already found them. Stop looking. Start finding.

The Dreaming

What sweet dreams may come. You'll find out one day. But not any day soon.
You still have much to do.

The Way We Found It

You are excused for confusing man made geometry with nature's technology.

The Concentric

Slow down and know that the only way you will get things done, is if you focus on one of them at a time.

Start outside yourself and finish within.

The Day I've Had

Today, I wrote a pamphlet for you and your family in the refugee camp, letting you know that there is still love in this world.

Today, I got all my old clothes together and put them in the boot of my car.

Today, I asked everyone I knew for help.

And today, it still wasn't enough.

The Living

Sometimes when you work, you play.

The High And Low

All your mountains are man made. But you climb them all the same.

The Away

If you run, make sure you’re running towards something. Never away.

The Day In The Life

You read the news today, oh boy.

22 dead and rising in xenophobic attacks in South Africa, thousands of refugees and a government in complete denial.

And yet somehow, all the people around you can talk about is where they're going on holiday.

They wouldn't laugh, if they'd seen the photograph.

The Sorting of Things

The semblance of order sometimes makes you forget the chaos all around you.

The Reflections

The way you see yourself, and the way I see you, are two very different things.

The Asking For Directions

Stumbling, you

Trip, you

Graze your knees, you

Get back up again, you

Fix your hair, you

Are ok as long as, you

Keep moving forward.

The Silver Of Someone Else

Trust no one who wants you to be anyone else but you.

You are who you are. And nothing and no one will ever change that.

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

The Age of Blossoms

Somehow, you can never really picture yourself getting older. You think something will happen.

It doesn't.

Monday, May 12, 2008

The Sum

You are more than the people and things you know. You are more than your memories. You are something beyond all this. But only you know what that is.

Thursday, May 8, 2008

The Voices

You have such beautiful voices in your head.

Let them speak.

The Sweetly Sleeping

Dream dreams. Big dreams. Little dreams. Dreams in which you fly, live, die. Dream of things you’ve never seen and things you see every day. Dream of the future, of what happened in the past and what’s happening right now.

But, whatever you do, dream.

The Air

There is little either you or I can create that will ever compete with the sky.

The Pictures We Make

You think you know what you want. You have a picture in your head. A pleasant noise in the background.

But what you're really looking at, is a stepping stone. A point in a time. Because once that picture becomes real, you can see new things.

A new picture emerges. A new point. Just a little bit further away.

And so you find yourself wanting this new, better picture.

There is nothing wrong with this.

The Excuses

I’ve been on holiday. Thank you for your patience.

The Reasons To Believe

The sun sparkles off water.

A bird passes you.

Enough food.

All reasons to believe that somewhere in the world, somehow, great things are possible.

The Closer

You lie in bed, staring at the ceiling and counting crows.

Someone.

Anyone.

But anyone could be someone if only you looked a little closer.

The Acoustics

You turn on the radio and fall in love with the shape of someone's voice box. And then you hear the size of their heart. The width of their pain. And the length of their dreams.

The End Of The Line

And so your great grandfathers and mothers died working the earth, generation upon generation since the dawn of time, so that one day, you could sit here and be able to read this. To enjoy life. To play. To love.

You owe it to them to have more fun.

The Reality Of It

Just between you and me, no one really knows what's going on.
