I need you to understand something. I wrote this for you. I wrote this for you and only you. Everyone else who reads it, doesn’t get it. They may think they get it, but they don’t. This is the sign you’ve been looking for.

The Perfect Apathy
You remember and dwell on all the things you've lost and ignore all the things you haven't. Because your scars are like stars. Yet the night stays perfectly black.
If my scars are like stars, the night doesn't stay black - because, I can point to a star and remember fondly all the things I've lost, and I cherish the things that I still have.
If my scars are like stars, the night doesn't stay black - because, I can point to a star and remember fondly all the things I've lost, and I cherish the things that I still have.
How do you come up with these? Do you really? Are you getting them out of a book? I'm not saying that to be rude or because I think you're plagerizing, I'm just wondering how you can have so many profound thoughts, one after another! You could make these into a book!
i wish this wasn't about him. i wish he could realize how much people love him, and losing that girl wasn't the worst thing that can happen. he's about to lose me... or... and i about to lose him?
If your scars are the stars... and your night is perfectly dark... it would leave me to believe that no matter what you have or will endure you will remain hopeful... silently hopeful like a perfectly dark night.

I remember and dwell on all the things I've lost _and_ I savor and love all the things I haven't.
ReplyDeleteIt is possible to do both. Even in the dark, surrounded by so very many stars...

ReplyDeleteYou seem to have mistaken a series of short stories for an advice column.
I think the point is, no one cherishes the night as much as they cherish the stars.

No, no, of course not. Its just that what anonymous wrote was true. And I just wanted your opinion about it. Or maybe an explanation. That's all :)

ReplyDeleteyea. sometimes they're so in-my-face, as if to remind me of what could've been.
or maybe that the scars are internal. They are always there, but can't be seen, like stars hidden on a black night...
