The Superhero Struggling Up Stairs

Dear Diary,

Today I let the mask slip just a little and all the villains come flooding in.

While I don't expect you, as a book filled with lines, to understand my predicament, understand that I will be home late tonight. There will be blood on my costume. And the dishes will have to wait.

I wish for once you would let the mask slip. You aren't the only one who can save the world, and even superheroes need someone to save them every once and a while.

This is a remarkably good one in a blog of gems.

I think everyone feels that way sometimes. Just like that. If you don't know what I mean by that, then that's fine. Your'e one of the lucky ones.

heheheh, everyone's got their own recipe to replenish their life energy. Here's mine:

I would go for a run round the block for 40 min until I'm exhausted. Upon my return I would reach out for my pre-chilled mug from the freezer, pour orange juice on it, and drink it.

Afterwards, a hot shower.

Afterwards, a glass of whiskey on ice. I would listen to high intensity music, like Four Season or Jon Powell's soundtrack to Bourne Identity. At this point I will begin my work.

This ritual never fails to jump start the battery in my soul.

What's yours?

This is something completely different. I...agree with Formysake.

From the title to the picture, to the content, as if each were really made for each other.

Whilst I allowed my guard to loosen, everyone of them took the opportunity to use and abuse me... and yes there were blood in my costume, yet, i always rebound through my writings and expresses my rage and pain in blank spaces. the dishes can wait.

I like to call that mask my emotional make-up. Some days I forget to put on my emotional make-up, and when I do it shows. But you know what, some days I just need to let my face breath... let my soul breath.

I agree with GeorgeDubya.

But I also have a "mask" too. I wear it a lot around other people but when I'm with my friends or family, the mask disappears. I don't know why. I can't control it at times....

Anyway, really touching post. (:

What I find as superlative as the photos and short essays/poetry can be here, that it motivates others to search within themselves to find what is dwelling in their thoughts.

This is my favorite post so far. It's good to remember to keep an eye out for superheroes who might need their dishes or costumes washed.

Even superheroes sometimes need saving. Or at least a little help.

I wish I could repay you. You helped me. (With your replies to my comments in "The Passenger," if you remember).

I hope there are people, or that there is at least one person, who can help you when you need it.

You are in my thoughts.

Take care.
