The Practical Guide To Consumables

You should eat to fill your stomach, not your soul. And drink to numb your thirst, not your pain.

Coupled with the photo, this sounds entirely too much like fat-phobic rhetoric for my taste.

While I agree with avoiding the trap of emotional eating, I get really irritated with anything that lends itself to allowing one human being to feel as if they have the right to vilify another's body.

Agreed. I like this one. If only everything could be broken down to sound so simple.

Jamethiel, this said nothing about being overweight, just about eating to numb. You can have a fast metabolism & be stick thin yet eat all the time because you're unhappy...

Coming from someone with "more to love" I didn't take this personally, not in the slightest.

Beautifully put, friend.

Happy Monday <3

Jamethiel, there's nothing about the photo and the words that pertain to being fat. Too many people, whether fat or not, eat and drink to fill some empty space in their lives.

And yeah for all those people who are fat because they eat too much, maybe they should do something about their situation if they are unhappy about it don't you think?

Personally, I didn't see this as referring to literally just eating and drinking. These simple, generally relatable examples suggested so many other things that different people do to fill the voids in life.

My friend just shared this link for me, and I wanted to say 'thank you,' for being a voice of inspiration, emotions, and just being in general :D
Thank you~

And at the same time, never avoid the two to stop the pain.

I think we all have our different poisons to try and fill the voids in our lives. This poem motivates me to focus on address the real problems themselves though instead of just "filling" a void.

A perfect post for those who are broken hearted and trying to forget the person.

But without drinking to numb the pain, what will?
