The Prisoner Of War

If you find this, you are the second person trapped inside this heart. I do not know how long I have been here but I have tried to leave it as I found it: Dark.

Definitely my favourite so far.
I'm going to try use it in conversation, and I have no intention of giving you credit ;)

Oddly enough... I think the second person trapped will have effect than the first. I know now how much it hurts when it returns to darkness again. Hope it doesn't happen this time.

Your words mean something to me, as always.

the intimate work that you do in translating a vision into sentences that fall from the soul must make you travel deeper inside yourself than you ever could on the outside.

My observation, Iain, is that you've figured out how to embrace the darkness as light, and this embrace solidifies into a diamond once you talk about Her.

Beautiful work...

Love, K

Truly epic. You somehow write what I feel all the time. I guess every broken heart feels the same.

Maybe we are not trapped at all.
Embracing and imprisoning can look the same in the dark. There are no clear lines to cross, no borders to define the distinction between the two. So, maybe all that mattered was intent. Or maybe, it doesn't matter at all.

Either way, a candle would do us all well. Maybe some warmth and light could melt the chains in here.

If we were meant to leave it as we found it, we wouldn't be here at all.
