The Reason We Left Göbekli Tepe

I will agree to hate the people who hurt you. Not the people who look like the people who hurt you.

This one, this is good.

As someone who was raped, this is the hardest thing for me to accomplish.

But I still try everyday.

recovery works better if you do. Take strength from the people you love and not the ones who give you cause to hate.
My very best wishes to you.

lol Anonymous thinks you're a girl, iain

You need an apostrophe in your "Im" so that it becomes "I'm".

It's one thing to leave the cult of the dead, and another to stop carrying it around inside us. Don't hate them, just don't trust them with my heart.

I'm sorry if I seem irrational. There is darkness all around.

verbally attacking and accusing one of the most nicest bloggers around on the internet isn't nice at all. this blog has been inspiring me and my friends who adore all the words iain writes and all the pictures that jon takes. appreciate the beauty, it makes life more enjoyable.
=D

Me too and I feel the same way. Don't worry, it gets easier. I promise.

to anonymous @ 12:17. I too was raped, 26 Oct. and until now I still caught myself staring into space, hating myself, that beast who abused me. I want to cry but I cannot. I see his face to every stranger who has his features and I still tremble violently. It is hard... so hard...

I loved this one.

So powerful.

Oh, and to the entertaining Anonymous who sucks at grammar and abuses the F key on their keyboard, you generally walk ON dirt, not OVER it. Just saying.

Great post today Iain.

To the very angry anonymous, let it out man. That much anger is toxic. Let's just sing it out.

*Starts singing* Why can't we be friends? Why can't we be friends?

Anonymous said...

But I need you to at least comfort me when we see people who look like them...

My heart breaks every time.

Love it, Iain. One of my favorites, I'd have to say.
Oh, and you may not be a liar...but Jon, don't get me started on Jon. ;-)

I don't hate the people who hurt me, and I wouldn't ask anyone to hate them.
"In this world, hate has never yet dispelled hate, only love dispels hate." -The Dhammapada-
But that doesn't mean I'm not afraid of them, and hope that they never find me. (Not that they're looking). Or that I'm not afraid of people who resemble them.
I've been hurt and abused by men all my life. And I realize logically that there are plenty of men in the world who would never do anything like the things that were done to me. But that doesn't make them any less scary to me. That doesn't mean I hate them... I just need some time... or maybe A LOT of time to get comfortable enough with men to even be able to befriend one.
I don't want to let the things that happened to me continue to have power over me... but it's so hard to control being afraid.

This guy is amazing. I don't blog myself but I honestly and sincerely appreciate this blog with everything I have. It has made me cry on so many occasions and it has touched my soul. To anonymous, you are an absoloute fucking fool. You are so blinded by your own insecurities and your own lack of compassion that you sit behind a computer and disrespect and disregard the real message behind this blog. The message is clear, it's right infront of you. What you perceive and interpret is what you get and it makes me very sad that the love behind this blog hasn't touched your heart or soul. IF you don't like it, fair enough but your judgement is so incorrect and invalid it makes me laugh. Honestly. You and your commentary can go get fucked, deep and hard.

Your hatred does not belong here.

I love you to the author of this blog. You are a beautiful, beautiful person and what you write is phenomenal.

I appreciate everything you have done for me.

Thankyou will never be enough but that's all I have right now.

Nehali.

It's amazing how this freak will spread his/her word vomit on practically every blog. If you dislike Iain and Jon so much, what the hell are you doing returning on a daily basis? Are you such a sad, pathetic person? Has life been so cruel to you that you feel you have the right to destroy beauty with your low self esteem and even lower education? Come now sunshine, stop making a fool out of yourself. You're like a chipmunk, all chatter and no meaning! Have a blessed day :)

Your blog is really beautiful, thanks for sharing.
At the risk of sounding stupid though, i don't get this one?
Either way, it's thought provoking, and for that i thank you :)
peace and love

This is the first comment to your blog that I've ever written, and it truly saddens me that I was goaded into writing it.
I don't understand how you can seriously answer comments that claim you're a racist, when the subject of the post is clearly one of tolerance. I ask you to seriously consider to take down comments such as these for 3 reasons:

1. This is your blog, your hard work come to fruition, and leaving these hateful messages be, gives the the one guy who writes them a sense of power over you, and the conviction he can continue to write and curse without retribution.

2. After reading your words of love and poetry, it breaks the mood, as well as my heart, to continually stumble upon these comments of hatred.

3. Right now he feels omnipotent, insulting not only you, but your readers who have gone through horrible experiences. That has no place here!

If not for yourself, then for your devoted readers, please erase his/her comments. "End the reign of terror", and effectively take away the only power he has. That way we'll be able to once more focus on what we've come here for - your words! I'm convinced I'm not the only one with this opinion.

Anonymous said...

Aye. I agree with Lena.
The blog is beautiful. The hateful comments are not.
I was going to leave a very different comment, specific to your post... but then I read these.
But it's your blog, your choice.
And I love this site anyway.
Peace!

Whenever my grandmother sees the Japanese flag, she always says something rude about the Japanese, followed by, "That flag taught me hate."

Stop it.
It's not 1941.

I need your words .... <3

Anonymous said...

I agree, can the hateful comments be removed? They're distracting. You're brave for letting them be there, but eh...they don't belong here.

Lightchaser said...

Lena is absolutely correct. It would be considerate of you to get rid of this troll's absurd comments so that we can get back to enjoying the experience of your words and photographs. I am now wary of clicking on the comments button for fear that the comments may totally kill the mood the post has created.
