The Alcoholics Are Only Romantic In The Movies

If I die from this, you can't expect me to act surprised.

You're right, the alcoholics are only romantic in the movies.

I swear to God I will never drink. I don't want to end up like him,

I'm already heading in his direction far too fast. I'm not going to speed it along.

Lots of things are only romantic in the movies. The movies are killing people emotionally with their craptacular expectations ans standards.

Addicts of all sorts can be just as compelling in real life as they are in the movies. The difference is, in real life you have to deal with all of the other aspects of addictive behaviours and personalities, which aren't as romantic or compelling at all.

(and so do they)

Miss B! Well said.

I guess the movies and other such activities act as shields from the responsibilities and complications of the real world, and act as a magnet for other romantic (or otherwise) addicitons, as the consequences of real life are ruled out.
Like what Miss B said, in a way.

Dear Me,

One day... not very far from now... I will print out 200 tagsized notes with ...

and throw it off from the top of a very high building and let it rain out on the street.

Beautiful words such as yours and beautiful pictures such as Jon's should be shared ...

It can make the world a much better place.

All my love.

Strange how you can get worried about someone although you have no clue who they are... although - is anyone really a stranger? Sometimes I think we all sort of understand each other - more so online than in the so called real life.

“I admire addicts. In a world where everybody is waiting for some bline, random disaster, or some sudden disease, the addict has the comfort of knowing what will most likely wait for him down the road. He's taken some control over his ultimate fate, and his addiction keeps the cause of death from being a total surprise.”

Real life is so much better and so much worse than movies, books or any invented stories.
