The Ghost Factory

If you let your ghost kill me, then you'll have two ghosts.

And the two of us will kill whoever's next.

Then there'll be three ghosts.

And the three of us will kill a fourth.

Then there'll be more.

And if you let your ghosts kill the people around you, you will spend your life surrounded by ghosts.

And so let's just dream of a place where we're eternal.

Do you write these entries and then choose a photo to suit, or do you sometimes find odd pictures and get inspired to write based on what you feel they are trying to say?

Both ways, Jon and I have a pretty organic process.

i'll be the ghost you never had, a vague vision of a future lost. i guess what i mean is that you need to stop telling lies: to yourself, about yourself, to me. if you want me, want me. don't just want me when it's convenient for your so-called life..

And despite the pre-knowledge of the consequences, don't we usually give in to our tendencies?

I'll deal with my ghost...thoroughly. It'll take time & effort to get rid of it completely, but I will. Have to do it for my own sake...like You said.

we all have our own ghosts from the past, crosses to carry in the present...they make us who we are despite of the ugliness... wish you all the best..

But I wonder, who knows how to breathe back life into a soul? This graveyard vengeance was it proved incurable? Or just deemed hopeless? Because all these lives of hollow wandering, the cold souls I think, could do with a spark of love. (Not the kind that sets you gloriously ablaze and burns your bones bare; but the slow and soothing warmth of love before it becomes conditioned.)

No, I suppose it's just a theory. I can't promise you a cure. But I do promise never to join the ones who didn't wonder- those who didn't even try not to not care.

Unclosed History or Unlived Future often appears like "Ghosts". But its only memories in the first case or projections in the latter. Assuming you really shared yourself with someone a concept like "Ghost" would not exist unless silence echoes. Try to come to a discourse and make future happen in whatever form evolves. Elimination is a lost cause :-)

I was inspired:

"Widower"
By Me

There's a cold room in your house full of ghosts
The knob on the door's always warm
I know you need to visit the past from time to time
To whisper tear-stained sonnets beneath your boozy breath
To the cold pillow her body left behind, but
One day
This will be easier
One day
You won't need to do this
You won't have to inventory your ghosts
To make sure they're still there
Haunting you
Haunting me

Stop trying to dress me in your dead wife's clothes
I'm not her; she's not me
And I can't keep paying for her mistakes

But
I'm still here
Look at me

I'm still here
With icy hands
Wrapped 'round my neck

I'm still here
Please
Don't let them kill me

I'm still here
I don't want to become
One of your ghosts

I'm still...

There's a cold room in your house full of ghosts
The knob on the door's always warm
I hope you'll visit me from time to time

I'm still here
(Always)
